Our Facilities

Post Chukka Drinks

Named after the fast and furious polo match the ‘Chukka Bar’ offers optimum views of the outdoor arena where our winter tournaments and chukkas often take place.  After a hard evening of chukkas the competitive atmosphere melts away as you snuggle into a leather sofa around the warming log-burner with a glass of mulled wine.  Or stay and eat from our bistro bar menu.

When the days are longer, after grass chukkas, the bar moves to you.  Have a cold drink and watch the games from our pitch side clubhouse.

T-Bone Challenge and Black Wednesday

The first Wednesday evening of every month during the summer season is Black Wednesday, named after the late John Black, the first Monday evening of every month during the winter arena season is the T-Bone Challenge.

Both are mini one day, competitive, two chukka tournaments designed for those with one horse.   After each team fights it out to win the coveted T-Bone plate or the Black Wednesday cup, everyone sits down for food and drink into the evening.

End Of Season Ball

Two staples of our social calendar are our end and start of season parties.  We hit off the summer season with a casual start of season party, however, compared to all other parties in the year, the end of the summer season black tie event stands out as one not to miss.

To celebrate a fantastic summer season everybody is invited to our end of season ball, a champagne and canapé reception will greet you, followed by a sit down three-course meal in the Forge Restaurant.

As part of the festivities there is an awards ceremony for both the polo and polocrosse clubs, awards from ‘Best Pony Player Combination’ to the ‘Wooden Spoon’ award are voted for by all members of the club.
